I guess I should post something about what this site is all about. It’s about books. I like books. I like to read books, and I like to read about books, and I like to talk about books, to the point where my boyfriend now fakes a seizure as soon as I say, “Let me just read you this passage …”

Also, I like dogs, and I have dogs, so the title seemed pretty obvious. However, unlike the vicious-looking beast up there in the header, my dogs have all passed the book-eating stage of their lives, although I do still have a copy of Blood Meridian with half of the spine chewed off.

I am 37 and theoretically I’m a lawyer, although really that’s just a day job to fund my reading habit. After I started this site I finished an M.A. in English literature and kind of lost interest in reading for a while. It happens.

I used to have an online journal where I talked about things besides books, and a garden site that I have not updated once since I went back to school. I’ll get back to it someday.
