The Village Voice on Proust
You know, I really have no idea what this article is about. Different translations of À la Recherche du Temps Perdu? The marketability of the various installments? A review of the most recent installment in the Viking translations? Who can tell? But I thought it might be of interest to the other members of the Usual Suspects book club who, like me, tried and failed to read Swann’s Way before collapsing in utter boredom. (I promise I will try it again some day. Some day a long time from now.)

Oh please, please don’t ever try to read Swann’s Way again. If you manage to get into it the next time around and decide that it’s wonderful, I might be swayed into trying it again myself since I generally like your taste in books. And I don’t know if I could survive another attempt at Proust without going into a coma.
